Modern diesel engines with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) systems recirculate exhaust gases into the engine. When oil vapors from the crankcase mix with exhaust particles, they form deposits that clog inlet manifolds and valves, leading to reduced engine power and potential damage.
